I am a freelance writer and one of my tasks is to write blog posts for my clients. Nothing out of the ordinary as you can imagine by yourself. Because I do the writing for those blogs, I also have to moderate comments. Besides the Viagra and Rent a DVD spam, lately I’ve noticed that more people are using this type of comment for dropping a link: “It helped me a lot with my college assignment”. I don’t know why, but I just can’t just this ‘formula’ anymore. How many people are doing their college homework with the help of blog posts? I’ll tell you: none of them. At least none of the students that want to graduate a college. Ok, so if students aren’t writing these blog comments, who is actually dropping the ‘little thanks comments’?
Dropping this type of comment is a common maneuver used by ‘link builders with poor English’. I’m sorry to say that, but only people who do not understand English use this useless method in an attempt to link their web site to any blog, no matter the page rank. I suspect they are using Comment Kahuna for posting the same comment over and over again.
Little Piece of Advice
I have a little advice for the professional comments posters: read the blog post and adjust your comment to the topic. Your comment will have better chances to be approved.
